Swan Lake Inspired Wedding // The Estate at River Run, Richmond VA
When your bride is a glamorous fairytale-dancer-goddess extraordinaire, you know her wedding day is sure to be show-stopping and magical. Hannah and Matt met at the Richmond Ballet and shared their first kiss on the set of Nutcracker. As it turned out, the fates allowed our worlds to collide, as this photographer also worked on Nutcracker as a lighting designer multiple years in a row. A friendship was forged and I couldn't have been more pleased or excited when Hannah and Matt reached out to ask me to shoot their wedding!
Hannah was a vision in Vera Wang, with Basque waist and layer upon layer of lace and tulle. Her tiara was fit for royalty. The gorgeous Georgian architecture of the Estate at River Run venue provided the perfect backdrop for the couple's Swan Lake theme, a nod to their dance backgrounds. Everywhere you looked were vintage swans and romantic details so representative of the bride. The couple resides in a country home with a collection of beloved furry and feathered family members, so it came as little surprise to see two of their lucky brood charming their guests as "flower child" (Goblin the English Bulldog) and "ring bearer" (Vito the Pug). Goblin and Vito made another special appearance in a gift Hannah had designed for Matt: cufflinks bearing their images!
And the dancing? Simply magnificent, even in the rain!
Absolutely thrilled for this amazing couple, a picture-perfect day, indeed.
