The Best of Weddings: 2022
This year marks a turning point in our lives, as Johnny and I prepared to welcome a new tiny being into our world. While she may have been tiny, carrying a baby is no small feat! It’s a crash course in managing a completely new set of expectations, from the extremely personal and unexpected (“wait, THIS is what happens? Seriously?!”), to the practical: new “out-in-the-world” wardrobe decisions, along with new equipment-carrying jujitsu, and frankly, learning how to gracefully navigate tons of bodies in crowded spaces (spoiler alert: lots of smiling and nodding). But, even more, we found ourselves “seeing” and “feeling” the world in new, beautiful ways — call it a spiritual awakening. We think this improved our work in new ways we could not have foreseen.
There are no words in the English language to express all the love and chaos that swirl inside and transform us while growing a babe. That tsunami created the most beautiful Avery James, and we now understand that experience was bound to expand our minds and hearts, which are bursting with so much love. And we know that our journey has just begun, so much yet to learn.
So, this year has been all the more special to us and our couples who walked this walk with us have been completely extraordinary in their patience and generosity of spirit, all of which we believe contributed to even more spectacular moments. We loved every minute of seeing and experiencing the love of our couples, and we thank them for their understanding when we had to take a step back because, we realized, oh, we couldn’t go climb that mountain in our eighth month!
We love all of you and thank you for your friendship, and for putting your faith and trust in us to document one of the most beautiful and meaningful days of your lives together.
